Cigarette smoking can damage both your lungs and your brain. Scientists at Israel’s Hebrew University in Jerusalem have concluded their studies with more than 2,000 students. The study included students from different social, political, and economic backgrounds. Scientists have said that cigarette smokers are at two to three times higher risk of depression than others.

Their mental health was also found to be weaker on different scales than those who did not smoke. Smoking also affects people’s understanding of social relations. Professor Hage Levine said that recent studies have revealed a deep connection between smoking and stress. However, no clear conclusion has yet been drawn as to how much stress is caused by smoking.

Scientists studied this for an average of 7.3 years. Therefore, 14,081 participants were divided into two categories: one class for three or more green tea drinkers in one week and the other less green tea drinkers.
